It's sweata weatha, yassss! I don't know about you, but I'm ready! What I'm not ready for is those chapped lips + hands, and cracked skin where my make-up sticks so badly it looks like I applied spackel to a wall and didn't sand it.
Never fear though! I got you with 7 SIMPLE ways you can get stunning, beautiful skin this fall season so you can chill and enjoy your favorite fall activity. Do one or do them all. The choice is yours!
Switch to a Hydrating Cleanser
If you are a gel cleanser gal, this may be a good time to switch to something a little creamier to help with moisture retention and loss. I personally love the Silky Pear for this season and sometimes apply it dry onto my skin to remove make-up (like your old fashion cold cream) and then remove with warm water and a soft cloth.
Layer your Moisture
Sometimes just one cream isn't enough, and your skin needs a little extra love! This can be achieved by adding a facial oil on top of your existing moisturizer to seal in all the goodies. Think of it as a jacket before going outside. The Skin Bliss is great for this and can be added on top of bogl's Powerhouse or your existing moisturizer.
Exfoliate-Gently!
Too much exfoliation can cause a whole host of issues, like dryness, flaking, or irritation. It can also compromise the skin barrier and deplete oils in your skin that it needs to maintain a healthy microbiome. Stick to 1-2 a week for a thicker skin and 1-2 a month for a more sensitive skin. The Pumpkin Sauce is a perfect blend of pumpkin, antioxidants, and glycolic acid to give you a gentle exfoliation and glow.
Don't forget SPF
Just because the sun sets earlier, doesn't mean it can't still do damage. Keep using a broad spectrum SPF every day, especially on those beautiful outdoor fall walks! Bonus if you can use an SPF with hydrating properties like our GlowUP! with vitamins C+E plus ceremides to help keep the barrier intact.
Introduce Antioxidants
The switch from hot weather to then cooler temperatures can cause skin whiplash. Consider adding in vitamin C or other products with niacinamide to help with brightening, thwart free radicals and maintain the moisture in the skin. We love C+E Trifecta as it contains time released vitamin C plus sunflower and rosehip oil and shea butter for a luxurious feel on the skin.
Invest in a Humidifier
As heating indoors increases, it can cause the air to become drier as well, leading to skin conditions that are less than favorable. Run the humidifier while you sleep to help replenish moisture levels and keep your skin hydrated overnight. Purchase a humidity reader and try to aim for 40-60% humidity.
Don't forget your lips + hands!
These two places can often see the changes first when the weather changes, especially when it's cool one day and hot the next. (I'm looking at you San Diego!) Chose a nourishing lip balm and hydrating hand cream to help avoid those nasty effects to these two areas. Look for ingredients like shea butter, ceremides, beeswax, or vitamin E for deep nourishment.
